About DJ Samer

With more than 25 years at the forefront of American underground dance music, DJ Samer has become one of the most influential figures in the U.S. progressive house and techno landscape. Founder of the long-running imprint Pangea Recordings, Samer has shaped the sound of progressive music through hundreds of releases, global DJ appearances, charted singles, and support from the world’s most respected DJs.

His journey began at the legendary Club Simon’s in Gainesville, Florida, where his passion for underground house and trance grew into a lifelong career. After relocating to Tampa, Samer quickly became known in the Ybor City nightlife circuit—eventually meeting mentor Bill Vines (The Maji), with whom he co-founded Pangea Recordings and produced as Evrydaydowners.

Pangea quickly exploded, earning global recognition as artists like Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Danny Tenaglia, Richie Hawtin, Above & Beyond, Paul Oakenfold, Guy J, Henry Saiz and more consistently charted and played the label’s releases. Today the catalog spans almost 600 released tracks across 173 catalog numbers, issued through its families: Pangea, Pangea UK, and 1Shot Recordings.

After relocating to San Diego in 2002, Samer’s career accelerated as he performed alongside international icons at Ultra Music Festival, Lovefest, LoveEvolution, 1015 Folsom, The Knitting Factory, The Womb, and clubs across the U.S. and worldwide.

As a producer, DJ Samer has released originals and remixes on Bedrock Records, Spundae, Baroque, Old SQL, Stripped, Proton, Stellar Fountain, Mystic Carousel, Clinique and many more. His single “Diaspora” on John Digweed’s Bedrock further cemented his status among progressive house elite.
