About This Release
Some records are a meeting of catalogues as much as a meeting of people. PANGE137 pairs Pangea's founder with the producer Sasha singled out in DJ Mag as his breakthrough pick of 2009 — two artists whose paths have run through the same rooms for the better part of two decades, finally sharing a title line. First aired on Summer Sampler 2026, the Original now arrives as a full single with two new versions.
Samer's is the longer shadow. Since founding Pangea in 1999 he has built one of America's most durable underground imprints, 300-plus releases deep, with his own productions landing on Bedrock, Baroque and Old SQL and finding their way into Sasha's Club Space set at WMC before most people knew the label existed. Nomad in the Dark arrived with a different kind of momentum: South Asian-born, Asheville-based, remixing Sasha, Depeche Mode and Burial, a fixture on Transitions and the Essential Selection, releases across Global Underground, Balance, Hope and Stripped. Sasha picked him first; Digweed, Cattaneo and Warren followed.
Adam is what happens when those two instincts pull in the same direction. The Original Mix is nine minutes of adrenaline: a bassline that locks in early and refuses to let go, riffs that are catchy without ever being cheap, and a melodic lift built for the moment a room tips from warm-up into full flight. It is peak-time progressive house in the classic sense — wide, cinematic, unapologetically euphoric — the kind of record that reminds you why the genre earned its name.
The Rework strips the light out. Less melody, more pressure; the bassline becomes the whole argument, the mood turns darker and tribal, and the arrangement tightens into something closer to a dancefloor beat-down than a journey. Same DNA, different intent — a tool for the hours when subtlety has stopped working. On promo it has emerged as the DJ favourite, with Eli Gold calling it "the perfect balance of melody and bass."
Nomad's Light in the Dark Remix closes the record on his own terms. Deep, brooding and hypnotic, it folds the original's hooks into the slow-burning, patient groove that made his name — layered, globally inflected, and never once losing sight of the floor. "Dark and twisted yet hypnotic simultaneously," as Marc Brommel Curtis put it.
Three versions. One title. A label boss and a Sasha protégé, on the same page at last.

About the Artists
Samer
DJ Samer founded Pangea Recordings in 1999 after cutting his teeth in the Florida scene and later San Diego, where he opened for Pete Tong, Chris Fortier, DJ Dara and Spesh. His early productions as Evrydaydowners were picked up by Sasha at Club Space during WMC 2003, and he has since played Ultra Music Festival, San Francisco's Love Parade and Love Fest alongside Sasha, John Digweed and Lee Burridge.
With releases on Bedrock, Baroque, Old SQL and a 300-plus catalogue across Pangea, Pangea UK and 1Shot, Samer remains one of the longest-serving figures in American progressive house.
Nomad in the Dark
In 2009 Sasha named Nomad in the Dark his breakthrough DJ/producer pick in DJ Mag. Since 2008 his productions and remixes have drawn steady support from Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, with regular airplay on Digweed's Transitions and Pete Tong's Essential Selection. His Proton Radio mix for Dave Seaman's Audio Therapy reached number one, holding Digweed out of the top spot.
Hailing from South Asia by way of Africa and North America, his sound layers global melodies and folk influence over cutting-edge house that never loses focus on the groove. Credits include Global Underground, Balance, Hope and Stripped, plus remixes of Sasha, Depeche Mode, Burial and Gui Boratto.
